I Received An ARC Of This Book In Exchange For My Honest Review

I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I hadn’t read the blurb or anything about the book. what I found upon reading it was a well written love story.

Clint is the owner of a ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming. He runs the ranch with the help of his family. He meets Rachel late at night in the 24 hour diner. He tells her that if she’s looking to stick around and needs work to stop by the ranch. He notices the bruise on her face and feels a sudden need to protect her. She turns him on but there is something more too.

Rachel has runaway. She’s not sure where she’s going but she knows that it will be as far from Boston and her past as she can get. After meeting Clint in the diner she decides to check out the ranch, maybe Sheridan wouldn’t be such a bad place to settle down. Clint does fill out a pair of wranglers real nice.

Rachel and Clint connect right off and it doesn’t take them long at all to become intimate with each other. Clint has been hurt in the past and Rachel is a city girl would she ever be happy living on a ranch? Rachel has secrets and when she tells Clint she knows there’s a chance he will kick her off the property but she knows she has to do it. When her past shows up unexpectedly Rachel is thrown into a dangerous situation like none she’s experienced before.

Scarlett Metal knows how to write a good book. She pulled me in with a story that had action, romance, hot cowboys, and managed to pull me in. By the time I had finished this book I felt like I had become part of Clint’s family and the Hidden Lane Ranch. I’d recommend this book to anyone looking to escape in a good book for a few hours. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Wyatt’s (Clint’s little brother) and Alexis’ story will be released in January of 2014.
